Am Samstag schoss mir die Idee durch den Kopf ein Wort auf eine Landkarte zu drucken, da ich doch jetzt die großen Holzlettern habe. Das wäre das perfekte Geschenk für den Freund meiner Schwester, der gerade sein Segelboot restauriert. Also druckte ich „ahoi“ und weil mir das so gut gefiel, trennte ich alle geeigneten Karten aus meinem Atlas und druckte noch ein paar. Mit den Holzlettern ist es eigentlich ähnlich wie mit den kleinen Buchstaben, manche drucken gut, andere weniger. Dann klebe ich Papier dahinter um alle auf die gleiche Höhe zu bringen. Aber das Gute ist, sie sind größer und fallen nicht so leicht durcheinander.
Ein paar Karten behalte ich selbst, aber die übrigen gibt’s jetzt im Shop 🙂

I am practising a bit with my new wood type on the Korrex. Last saturday I had the idea to print something on a map as a gift for my sister’s boyfriend. He did the sailing license last year and refurbishs his sailing boat at the moment. So I thought about a word and chose „ahoi“ and I liked it so much that I printed it on all maps I got out of my atlas. The letters are huge compared to my mostly used lead type, but I had to stick paper behind them like I do it with the tiny ones when the impression is not good enough.
I’ll keep some for myself, but the others are available in my shop now if you are interested 🙂
